Scorpion AMG GT Exhaust Range Revealed - More Sound, More Choice, Pure V8 Character
Following our exclusive sneak preview, we're delighted to reveal the completed Scorpion performance exhaust range for the Mercedes-AMG GT, GT S and GT C, complete with new product photography, technical specifications and a taste of that unmistakable AMG V8 soundtrack.
There are few engines that stir the emotions quite like Mercedes-AMG's hand-built 4.0-litre biturbo V8. And when that engine sits beneath the long bonnet of the AMG GT, the result is something rather special.
Back in September, we gave Meistech readers an early look at an exciting new exhaust development from our friends at Scorpion Exhausts.
Now, with development completed and the full range confirmed, we're pleased to bring you a closer look at the finished products.
Designed specifically for the 2015–2018 Mercedes-AMG GT, GT S and GT C (non-GPF models), the new range offers owners three distinct ways to enhance the soundtrack of their AMG, from a deeper V8 rumble to something considerably more dramatic.
And the best part? You don't have to choose your ultimate configuration from day one.
Hear the Thunder – Scorpion's AMG GT Exhaust in Action
Pictures can showcase the engineering, but nothing quite captures the character of an AMG V8 like hearing it for yourself.
Scorpion has supplied us with a short sound clip offering a taste of its latest AMG GT exhaust development.
Turn up the volume and enjoy!
Three Exhaust Options. One Incredible V8.
Scorpion has taken a modular approach to its new AMG GT range, developing three interchangeable exhaust upgrades that allow owners to tailor the character of their vehicle.
Whether you're looking for a deeper, more purposeful exhaust note, the flexibility of electronic valves or the outright drama of a silencer-delete system, there's an option to suit.
Scorpion X-Pipe Mid-Section – A Deeper V8 Sound
Product code: SMBP011
The new X-pipe mid-section is an excellent starting point for owners looking to enhance the AMG GT's already distinctive soundtrack.
Designed to replace the original centre section, the X-pipe changes the way exhaust gases interact, producing a deeper and more pronounced exhaust note.
According to Scorpion owner Shaun Leonard, the X-pipe gives the car a noticeably deeper sound.
It's a relatively straightforward way to introduce more character into the AMG GT's exhaust note, while providing the foundation for further upgrades.

Scorpion Valved Rear Silencer – Performance Without Compromise
Product code: SMB011
For owners who want to enhance their AMG GT's soundtrack while retaining the functionality of the original exhaust valve system, Scorpion has developed a new rear silencer assembly incorporating electronic exhaust valves.
Crucially, the system is designed to work with the vehicle's existing driving modes, retaining the exhaust valve functionality owners are accustomed to.
That means the AMG GT can maintain its versatility, with the exhaust character responding to the selected driving mode.
It's a particularly appealing option for owners who enjoy the car on longer journeys but still want a more engaging soundtrack when the opportunity arises.

Scorpion Predator – Unleash the Thunder
Product code: SMB012
For those who believe an AMG V8 should make its presence known, Scorpion's new Predator silencer-delete system takes things considerably further.
Replacing the rear silencer assembly with a pair of free-flowing pipes, the Predator is designed to deliver the most aggressive soundtrack of the three options.
The pipes feature a distinctive black ceramic-coated finish, giving the system a purposeful appearance.
But it's the sound that really defines this option.
Scorpion owner Shaun Leonard describes the result perfectly:
"Finally, a set of silencer delete pipes which make the car sound like thunder."
Interestingly, Shaun also reports that Scorpion's testing found no noticeable drone inside the cabin, despite the dramatic increase in exterior exhaust sound.
That combination of a thunderous soundtrack outside and a more comfortable experience inside is certainly an appealing prospect for enthusiasts seeking something more extreme.

Designed to Evolve – The Beauty of a Modular Exhaust System
One of the standout features of Scorpion's new range is the flexibility built into its design.
Unlike exhaust systems that require owners to commit to a complete replacement from the outset, these components are interchangeable with one another and with the original exhaust.
You can begin with the X-pipe mid-section and add a rear silencer upgrade later.
Alternatively, start with the valved rear silencer or Predator system, then introduce the X-pipe when you're ready for the next stage.
There's also an important benefit for owners concerned about preserving their original Mercedes-AMG exhaust.
When the X-pipe mid-section is combined with either Scorpion rear system, the complete secondary-catalyst-back configuration can be installed without cutting the original factory exhaust.
Fitting any of the three exhaust components individually does require cutting the original exhaust.
For AMG GT owners who value retaining their factory components, the complete configuration is an attractive option.

Engineered for the Mercedes-AMG GT Family
The new Scorpion range has been developed for:
-
Mercedes-AMG GT (2015–2018)
-
Mercedes-AMG GT S (2015–2018)
-
Mercedes-AMG GT C (2015–2018)
Important: These systems are intended for non-GPF vehicles only. Compatibility should be confirmed before ordering.
The range also includes an optional tunnel brace, providing an additional component for the installation.
Meistech Insight – Bringing Out the Best in AMG's V8
At Meistech, we're passionate about performance upgrades that complement the engineering and character of the original vehicle.
The first-generation Mercedes-AMG GT remains one of our favourite modern AMGs. Its combination of a hand-built V8, transaxle layout and distinctive driving character makes it a truly special machine.
And while the original exhaust already delivers plenty of personality, there's something particularly appealing about giving owners the opportunity to tailor that soundtrack to their own preferences.
What we like most about Scorpion's latest development is the flexibility.
Not every owner wants an uncompromising exhaust system. Some simply want a deeper V8 note while retaining the original driving-mode functionality. Others want the full theatre of the Predator configuration.
This new range caters for both.
The ability to upgrade progressively, combined with the option to retain the original exhaust intact when fitting a complete system, makes it a thoughtful addition to the AMG GT performance market.
It's another exciting development from Scorpion, and we're looking forward to helping AMG GT owners explore the possibilities.
